  • Online London United Kingdom (map)
Soil Ecology and food production

This course is module 4 of the full Online Permaculture Design Course that we offer. It can also be taken in isolation as long as you have completed an Introduction to Permaculture Course (online or in-person).

The course covers important aspects of soil ecology as well as permaculture approaches to food production.

We will start off by learning the basics of classical soil science, the fertility factors and the soil food web, exploring how we can improve these aspects in our soil through good practice, compost and also liquid fertilisers. That will be followed by an exploration of the place of animals in a permaculture system and their role in the ecosystem.

We will explore different methods of growing food and the economics of the business followed by examples of multifunctional permaculture farms.

Dates and times are: Tuesday December 8th, Thursday December 10th and Thursday December 17th from 6.30 pm to 9 pm London, UK times.

The course is thought by Michel Thill plus a guest teacher.
